Group Classes
Group classes are a vital part of your training journey with your dog, allowing for weekly support from both your instructor and your classmates. Small classes (4-6 dogs) ensure a relaxed atmosphere and personal attention for all students.
We use positive reinforcement including treats, praise, play, & access in all our classes.
We offer several classes in indoor and outdoor locations in Corvallis and Philomath. Check your registration for location details.

Indoor class. Social skills and obedience concepts for developing canine brains. Learn to help your young dog develop impulse control, frustration tolerance, and more!

Indoor class. Specifically aimed at overexcited greeters, class focuses on training methods for calming down from initial excitement, and protocols for smoother greetings.
>>Foundation Skills, instructor varies
This is our version of a basic obedience class & is where dogs over 5 months of age who are not experiencing extreme frustration or fear should start. Classes meet each week for five weeks. The first week is always a human-only orientation.
A marker-system of training is used (clicker or verbal marker ok) & handlers are taught to manage problem behaviors, as well as provide adequate and appropriate exercise and enrichment for their dogs. The curriculum is broken into three classes:
Foundations 1, held indoors, focuses on in-home success, with an emphasis on appropriate expectations, plus clear & consistent communication from the handler.
Foundations 2, mixed indoor and outdoor class, is aimed directly at desensitizing distractions and increasing teamwork skills. Greetings with people begins here.
Foundations 3, held outdoors, works on public access skills like recall, leash walking & stay.

Outdoor class held at Common Fields in Corvallis, generally in the summer. Enjoy a public atmosphere as you work with your dog to be the best pub partners you can be!

Practice Sessions:

We offer several one-day practice sessions in indoor and outdoor locations in Philomath & Corvallis. Check your registration for location details. Not appropriate for dogs displaying reactivity due to overexcitement or anxiety.

Indoor sessions. If you haven’t played scent work games with your dog yet, you are missing out! These sessions are ultra-short (30 minutes) for maximum impact. Three levels are offered:
Scent Work Intro: hunting and handling games for beginners
Scent Work Skills: training a final source behavior
Scent Work Advanced Skills: training hides for dogs on odor
Scent Work: Lost Item/Fun Runs: pre-set hides for articles and odor!

Location varies. Appropriate for ALL ages. Practice settling around people and dogs, then practice controlled greetings with them! Learn about canine body language, and how to understand what your dog is really telling you about their new friend. Dog bed or cot required.

>>Fitness & Cooperative Care with Lisa Tedder, CPDT-KA
Indoor session, appropriate for ALL ages. This is a flexible class that allows for you and your dog to progress at your own pace and level of experience. The first half of the session provides either a light, isometric workout for your dog or an introduction to using fitness equipment & moves. The second half is devoted to practice cooperative care concepts for less stress in your nail trimming, teeth brushing, or veterinary visits.

Outdoor session. Utilize classical conditioning and predictable setups to troubleshoot your recall. 20’ long line and the very best snacks or toys required.

>>Canine Parkour with Lisa Tedder, CPDT-KA, FDM
Outdoor session, appropriate for ALL ages. Learn to safely jump, climb and duck under obstacles in the environment. Great for building confidence and safe for puppies!

Workshops are like mini-classes; meeting only for two consecutive weeks. They may be held indoors, or at outdoor locations in Philomath & Corvallis. They are appropriate for dogs over 20wks. of age. Not appropriate for dogs displaying reactivity due to over excitement or anxiety.

Have a little fun with your obedience skills! Shenanigans for humans and dogs included. Excellent class for enhancing your and your dog’s love of working together.
